Very much enjoying April Vacation with Donovan, he's learning that people in this house like to hit each other and call it 'male bonding' and 'fun'. He's also learning not to razz the Bear when he first wakes up, no matter what time it is. Hehehehehe. I've braided his hair, and we've done the walking in the rain thing, and life is good.
And he's showing me a few things as well. Paul Potts? The winner of Britain's Got Talent, the cell phone salesman with the talent for singing Italian Opera, and such passion in his voice? Never heard of him until my 16 year old son told me about him the other night.
And you know something? For the first time in my life, I think I like Opera. Still have no clue what the words are, but - wow! What a voice.
In other news, Bear and I have found land for the hand-fasting, and we have a date - Sept 20, 2008. We have very few addresses, and a lot of people we don't even have the last names of. So sending out invites is going to be a pain in the tuckus. Another thing we don't have is money to pull it off the way we'd planned. With getting the new appt, and getting my son back this year, we just don't have the money for the big elaborate ceremony with all the attendants and honor guard and swords and all that we had had hoped for. We're really sorry about it, but in this case? Real life comes first. Now comes the sad part of having to tell some of our closest friends the bad news.

I think Simon had the only dry eye in the house and he still adored her.
